From silky straight to fully curled synthetic hair review

Hey all my cute cats and cool kitties,

I took a break from blogging but I'm back to give you a look at my latest wig from IT Tress. The length of the hair is a long 20-24 inches. The color I purchased was 4/30 mix from my local Korean owned beauty supply store. You can also purchase this hair from https://www.lhboutique.com/it-tress-lace-front-wig-flw-daisy/ for  $69.99.
The hair is super soft for a synthetic hair wig. The lace is two inches deep. I would love to see this style with a three inch deep lace line but that would not stop me from buying this wig. The colors also include:
1:black
1B: off black
1B/30: off black and red brown mix
2:darkest brown
4/30: brown and golden brown mix
The hair line feels natural and the lace is soft against my skin. Not all lace fronts have a soft/light lace like this, which makes it feel very breathable. I have owned the unit for around two weeks and I have slept in this hair with no problems; in the morning I can brush and go. The hair is also 400 degrees heat safe. You may need to go that high just to retain curl patterns in this wig. A little makeup concealer around the hair line will help you blend your wig piece with your skin tone. There is some light shedding that I have experienced with this in the short time I've owned this wig, but this can be expected with synthetic hair wigs. This hair doesn't itch my skin like many other brands and I hope to get this hair in a color #2 for the winter months.
Even with curls; the hair sits near my waist and I'm 5'4

The secret to curling silky straight synthetic hair
I have never been good at curling synthetic hair but I was successful this time by having the time and patience to complete this task. The secret to keeping the curls is setting the curling iron to about 350 degrees then curling with you iron and holding or pinning the curls up until cooled. Try to let the curls sit your hands gently then pin up and to the side until your full head is complete. Then let curls fall and with a wide tooth comb or your fingers gently separate the curls and then spray your favorite spray hold or serum. Curling your hair takes quite a bit of time (it took me 1hour and 30 minutes to complete) but the results are amazing! Make sure you have at least an hour to style your hair hair more if you very particular as I am...
Thanks for coming back to read my blog. I will try and be more diligent with future posts. Until next Friday keep mixing your fashions!

Let's be Bohemian princesses

Bohemian styles consist of natural colors and mixtures of partern with texture. I personally love the bohemian styles. I see a lot of this trend in the stores this season. If you've read my flower crown blog entry you know that florals are an easy entry into the boho look. Florals are not the only way you can build up a bohemian look.
Long Kimonos and shorts paired with ankle boots are very bohemian. Although in the upper Northern region it's still a little too cold to show off this look. Kimonos can dress up almost any basic T. Finish off this look with a ranger style westrn hat and your done!
Long maxi dress paired with kimono styled cardigan and flowers in your hair will also create a beautiful bohemian style. Very romantic like look. I purchased both from forever21, the cardigan was $29.90 and the maxi dress was $17.90.

Long flowing maxi dresses and denims can also lend its self to the bohemian look. Below are some of the ways I would style bohemian with many of the current trending styles in stores and online.
Ebay look guide to boho style

This look is all about flow and comfort. To be bohemian you must not be afraid to pair different patterns with bursts of color. Simple lines can be paired with southwestern prints, soft whites can pair with furs or knits. As long as your thinking a little outside the box your thinking like a boho princess. Just do a simple google image search for boho styles it's good place to start.

--------------------today's rocking floral look-----------------------------
Today I am wearing my favorite rock artist nirvana's kurt Cobain with my brand new floral jacket from ModCloth.com. I really love the versatility of this jacket. I feel I can build this floral blazer with dark jeans and tasteful T-shirts for a casual look. Today I am wearing it with a stripped ribbed skirt from forever 21. I am also wearing it with my brown ModCloth shoes (see review:xxxx)
Today is a bit of chilly day but the blazer is light and snug. I also own the matching pant but I most likely will never wear the two sets at the same time. That look is just too tacky.
Here is the blazer with jeans. This jacket has the entire pallet of colors I plan to wear this spring. For that reason it is easily becoming one of my favorite this season. I mostly love this blazer with simple tshirts and blouses. If you interested in this jacket it was priced at $69.99 at Modcloth.com. This blazer sold out and I was forced to pick it up on its second time around so hurry while supplies last.

I paired this blazer with a rosey pink head band and matching hair tie to create my boho-princess look. It is very girly this look of flowers and bling! With the right assesories the whole look just comes to life.

I look forward to seeing how others put together their boho looks this season. If you all have any comments on how I put my boho looks together, please leave them bellow. I look forward to hearing from you all soon. Keep mixing and matching your fashions to suit your style cravings!

Flower crown mania

Hello kitties,

Flower head bands; a reminant of the 60's and 70's are back in style for those with a boho style fetish. Although I myself do not often subscribe to any one look, I personally love floral crowns. My present job involves working in a garden shop and I love dressing to the floral theme.

Today I work in denim overalls and a cute in expensive floral top of red/pink Iris flowers. I got this top from forever 21 for about $12. The wanna be chucks were a last minute find at my local family dollar for $8!!!
I love mixing looks together! The converse match the beats by Dre head set and the pink tones in the sweater; the overalls are part of my denim look for work and spring. (More on that in another post.) This is my #springswag look of floral meets hood.

Floral crown mania

I also had a ball with these festive hippie floral crowns from charollete Russe and forever21. The white floral strand featured in all the photos are barretes that leave a trail of flowers in your hair. I think this works best with long hair styles.take a look at some of my personal floral collection!
Love the floral cat ears. I am known as Ako kitty so I like to own the cat ear look! Not every one is brave enough to wear these in public because most people want to blend in. But I am a true kitty at heart representing all my kitties :3 !

The white band is one of my favorite pieces. I wear it almost every time I go to my job in gardening department. Everyone loves this piece.
The yellow sun flowers I got originally around valentines from charollete rousse. The pretty little pony tail hair tie was also from the same store: two for $10 sale. I love how all the florals work well together.
These really big ones I think are very luscious. It also makes a bold stament. I most likely will wear this with dresses or simple prints. These flowers are so big they steal the show!

I look forward to seeing how others wear this bohemian look of flower crowns. Post some of you pictures for your favorite shopping dives and link it to this blog post. I always love to see how others choose to rock the floral trend. Please like, share or comment bellow I look forward to hearing from you all. Peace out kitties and have fun mixing up your fashions!

The forever 21 online want it spring shoes list

Hello kitties,

This month I haven't had enough money to get as much as I would like  to buy. Here are some of the things I want to buy from forever21.com. This list I created are my hopefuls to purchase and I hope that you find something to add to your collection too.

The want list :

👆 Every girl needs a cute pair of sandals!
These I think work well with jeans and they add some lift too. I currently own them in gold without the heel.
👉the white sandles are a simple look to dress down any busy patterns. Plus these are a great price for a basic look.

👇the blush flats are cute but not my top choice.
👉I am in 💖 with the black pumps. They are simple and can be styled with any look. I also have been going crazy for socks lately. This would help showcase my cute sock collection.
👆the "hothouse" floral shoe is my favorite and may be my next purchase from this vendor online. I have recently started a new retail job that is quite labor some. This shoe will help zest up my denim look and help me keep a little floral within my work look.
(Florals are big this year. But try not to mix too may florals together even if they are all similar colors.)

👉not a huge fan of metallic confetti shoes. They don't fit my style. But I like the silver. This shoe is very bohemian.

👇the faux suede Tass shoe is office cute.
👉but the faux leather ankle cuff is to die for! Too bad it's sold out cause I really want these bad girls👄!
👆the strappy platform sandles are similar to the black. But same styling choices for me.
👉I love how they paired the white on white. I will definitely steal this look. 👀👄👍
👆more white selections. Not sure ones I like more.
These gold slip ons will definitely match my pale gold Michael Korrs bag and help dress up my boring work denim look. This will be a must have for me as I have many opportunities to add gold to help texturizing my looks. Plus a girl needs a little bling!💎

I always am on the look out for a good pair or cute run around shoes. These are cheap enough to get one or each of my woredrobe colors: pink, and teal blue.

This is what my shopping cart looks like.
I have been going sock crazy! Especially for roses and fruity cute themes. I look at the sandles as an opportunity to show off these socks as it is currently too cold to wear sandles with cute nail polish. I am actually going to take the rise sweater and dress out my cart. My current collection I have a great many rose themed items. It's a good shopper who knows their limit; and I have nearly hit mine.

I hope you all have enjoyed the journey through my top Picts of of online shopping through forever 21 online store. If you like these kind of online shopping tours at my wish list picks please comment below. Good or bad it's all a learning experience!  Until next time have fun mixing up your fashions.

Brazilian hair review: building a wig from scratch

Hello kitties!

I recently purchased four bundles of Brazilian body wave hair +one closure with the intentions of building a wig from scratch.i managed to get the bundles at an awesome sale price of buy one get one free, with the Expectation to use at least three bundles. So my wig making adventure began.
I watched several tutorials on YouTube describing technique on creating a wig from scratch. I will link the videos in the notes section at the end. The you tube gurus all used elastic or stretch caps in their construction. I chose to go with a net cap for easy weaving.

A little education about weaves and wigs
Weaves commonly known as extensions, are sewn to extend length. Weaving is also a sewing technique for putting wefts to a cap.
Wigs come in various types. From the full lace wig which which is hair seen through a lace cap. Full lace and lace fronts make it easy to part the hair. They can come in synthetic (not real) and human hair. Human hair blends also exist but the rumor is its naked fro animal hair like yak hair. Beware of blends, unless a pack says what type of hair it is, as a rule of thumb I don't trust them.

The wig I made used three and a half bundles and a closer. The wig is a tad heavy and it is very full. I think I want to change the closure. I don't like the closer I purchased it was not a free part closure there was bairly a half inch part that you can not change! For $40I feel that I was ripped off... The closure mesures 5 x3".  I would not recommend this product. It looked pretty in the package but not on the
wig. Here is the packaging to the closure. ( I wish I had taken a picture of the unit before I sewed it.)

Here is what the closure look like before it was extracted from the packaging
16 inch closure in body wave above and below installed on the wig.

The top of my wig
( I used concealer from my make up on the lace to match my scalp)

The front of my wig
(With indoor lighting)

The wig was rather easy to construct. Following a simple pattern I curved the wefts around the wig. As I went around the cap I added hair as needed. My biggest regret is not adding combs to this unit, but I am going to add them sometime later on. I am going to add two on the side and one in the back for added security. I will definitely try to create another wig in the future but I am not sure how well I did on this one; I will leave it for you all to judge.

(my wig outdoors)

22 inches long!

The hair is so very soft and although this is beauty store hair it is virgin Brazilian hair and can be colored, curled and styled as I want. I currently am wearing the natural wave of the hair, and I am going to test the curling, and styling options for this hair. The hair is all 22 inches long in a color #2 natural brown. There were some grey hairs, which is to be expected in this length of natural hair. I simply colored the hair all one color in the natural brown.

I will post updates in two weeks on this hair. take a look at the notes section I have made references to the YouTube videos I used for this project. I would love to hear any stories you have! Please comment below.

Mod cloth spring review

Hello my fellow style kitties,

This week I wanted to touch on a few of my style finds for spring and how I intend to mix the new fashion with the old. But also wanted to give a quick review on my Mod Cloth purchases and wish list.

Mod cloth spring review
"Weekday wonder" pant  by smashed lemon
Size small
Price: $68
Vendor: ModCloth
I have many things hidden within my current Mod Cloth wish list in their app, but this is by far one I couldn't let get away. I have been watching these pants for nearly a month waiting to get my tax money to but them. Now that I have them I am in love! They are so sweet and romantic. I also purchased these shoes via mod cloth in a size 7.5. The shoes are not real leather but the real reason I got them was to show off the many cute socks I have been collecting this spring. With this outfit I chose my kitty socks. Although I would like to call them my Ako kitty socks!

The fit of the pants are a tad loose at the waiste but not by much. I kind of wish that there were a belt line but the lack of one would not have forced me to not purchase these. I love the very busy print in the turquoise blue and pink rose theme. If your have read my other entry's, my style this year is all about rose, lace, and maybe pearls.
#nofilter
I also paired these pants with a ruffled top from last season from forever 21 and a recent purchase from TJ Maxx's jewelry department, the fabulous Betsy Johnson necklace! I chose to wear my natural hair pulled back with a wavy ponytail in 1B / 30
Betsy Johnson necklace $25, purchased at TJMAXX in poughkeepsie,NY

I also will be posting this Saturday a video blog post with my other spring hauls from various stores. Hope you all stay tuned for more updates

One might ask why do you need so many clothes? My father often taught me to dress for success. I guess I feel that I must dress the part of the person I want to become. My style is cute but I also want to be poised and professional. Besides the fact that I feel I must present the best me at all times even in jeans. I guess I really don't know how to dress down either. I don't see myself slowing down my style hunting any time soon.

Stay styling my sexy kittens!

Spring closet cleaning! Tips on getting your closet cleaned for new stuff.

Comes a time in every artist life where you have to clean out your closet and make room for newer things.when I approach cleaning out my closet I think about "how long has it been since I used this outfit or will I use this outfit again." The answer to that is not always easy. some clothes I want to hold onto because they have a bit of sentimental value but eventually your closet - when it's small - gets too packed and you have to say goodbye to some things. Well my closet is practically microscopic but I finally to organize my closet to make room for my many new purchases over the year. I start with getting rid of clothes that are really mangled or badly stained, and outdated. I think that clothes do hold a spirit to them, which makes it hard to get rid of clothes sometimes.  Especially for me because I think I've become a bit of a collector of clothing. I phone in love with different textures and different styles of clothing. I've also falling in love with the different designers and the front looks that clothes give me.

In order to change the collector in me I i'm lost purge some of my closet in order to make room for the next great style. Spring wardrobe is all about the garden pattern pilot. Greens pinks roses rose buds flowers of all types fill my imagination and my wardrobe  this season. I am currently purging things that do not collaborate well with my new garden inspired collection. There for anything that may not click well with my new ideals I get rid of. I'm sure that you all exercise the same caution when going through your fashion closet. Or at least said like to think that you do. Here are some good practices when purging your closet.

1. Think vaguely about your current fashion buys. What have you been gravitating toward when you shop?
2. Think about filling the gaps in your wordrobe. If your lacking assesories to match maybe it's time to look through old assesories and figure out what works with the new you.
3. Remember that we grow older every year. This is not to mean don't dress youthful but age appreciate. Don't hold on to things that you've had since high school just to see if you still fit in them! Purge things that are dated and don't speak about the current you!
4. If you haven't fixed that dress or shirt in over a year, it may be time to get rid of it! I make this huge mistake every time I look in my closet. I see a small tear: I mean to fix it, and I never have the time or forget to do it. If you haven't fixed yet, make room for something similar to replace it.
5. If it looks too ratty or tacky let it go... Don't let old fashion choices hold you back!

These are just a couple of pointers for your spring cleaning. Remember to donate any usable old clothing to your local shelters and get back to your community. But anything that is too bad he definitely get rid of! Don't forget to think about shoes and accessories such as, rings, necklaces, and headbands, or hair assessories. when going through things to get rid of think about it as your wardrobe as a complete set from head to toe. Clothes are not the only things to purge during a wordrobe spring cleaning.

For the love of roses

Hello again readers,

I'm often approached with complements on my style choices. I believe that my style is derived from my experiences as I look through the styles presented to me in my local malls. I often see common trends from my window shopping. I often do not buy the first thing I see. When I go shopping I think about a particular color pallet or theme.

Sometimes I think about what my closet or style is lacking or missing. For example: currently my closet is full of prints of different prints or textures but I feel as though I lack solid colors, knits, and basics, ,especially the color black. However reevaluating my closet is one approach towards identifying my sense of style. I often take into account the color pallet or theme that I want to wear during a season. Last year I wore a lot of lace and vigorously sought out lace themes. This year I want to incorporate the lace from last year with the garden themes I've been experiencing this year.

My valentines out fit

"romantic rose" theme My Valentines outfit
Now that I have given you a taste of my general style choices, I would like to introduce you all to my valentine outfit!
For my out fit my boyfriend took me shopping for the first time in a long time now. He purchased the dress that I intend on wearing. I chose this dress because of its romantic color pallet of reds and pinks.  You might ask yourself why did I pair this outfit with mint green accent colors? Mint green happens to be one of those colors that I want to add to my style repertoire. I also happen to think that being too matchy can overwhelm any well planned out fit, so in order to break up the themes I chose my new fav mint green.

My outfit is composed of:

Rose dress #forever21
Mint shoes #modcloth
80's tape bag #monsoon
Mint flower necklace #charlotterouse
Forest Green tights #target
Hair HL530 "Kate", sensational #wig

I will pair this hair with my romantic rose dress. I am still thinking about this look with the mint bow. What do you all think? Tell me in a comment below
