As I sat on a Tuesday afternoon observing the students on their first day back to college at Dutchess community college, a thought roused in my mind; what impression do they want to make on their first day back to school? For many it will be their first time in college, whilst others are returning to greet old friends and explore the possibilities of fesh experiences. I would like to believe that their fashion choices speak out to others making such statements as,"I'm very interesting and exciting" Or "I'm loud and I'm proud!" Perhaps I am an old believer that fashion has it's own language of adjictives that very few can read. There are many terms used to describe a persons affinity for fashion including couture, boho, chic,and many sudeonames of the like. In this article I'd like to review the styles of my juniors as an alumni.
I asked a series I asked students a few simple questions about their choices in their first day back outfit. My first subject was a very cute young lady named Hennessy, whom I found strolling possibly between classes in a very adorable mint blue top and pencil skirt combination.

1.why did you choose
this out fit for your first day back to school?
"Because it was
90 degrees out side." I took note that she wore the tube top most likely to prevent being over heated. It was indeed very humid on this afternoon. She went on to say,"The skirt is tight
like my pencil skirt , the necklace matches
my shirt and I have matching studs."
2. What would you
say your style is? Gothic, hip hop, chic?
She appeared a little confused at my question.
"Very chic and
girlie "
3. What does you
closet consist mostly of?
"A lot of
fruity colors and patters, a lot of skirts"

your style of fashion?
"Celebrities
and magazines like H&M ,that is one of my
favs"

The necklace is the central statement in this outfit. The shirt is a lace tube top baby blue. The colors complement her bronze skintone as well.
Dispute the humity these beautiful young ladies braved the weather in jeans. But they still looked good in despite the heat. I particularly was interested in their foot ware. The boots give a south western look especially paired with the textiles of the scarf.
These white sandles are cute. She protested that her feet where subpar but I must insist that she looked more like a genie ready grant wishes in these shoes.
My final subjects were twins! These boys are business majors and one day hope to conform to formal business contoured suits. As fans of Ralph Lauren these young men have expensive tastes.

In conclusion I
believe that fashion helps to identify our selves. It is an announcement to
others of our interests and our aspirations. At times our wardrobe can inspire
us to be what we've always wanted to be when we first told our teachers
"what we wanted to be when we grew up!"
